One my favorite destination wedding reception decor ideas is to create an intimate feel by hanging eye-catching decorations above the tables.  This works best for long rectangular tables, which are especially good for destination weddings, because they tend to be smaller and more convivial.

This technique is also great for wide open spaces, which might seem too large for a small group without something to cozy up the space. How can you apply this look at an outdoor wedding reception?  Hanging decorations above the dinner tables is most possible if you’re using a tent, palapa, arbor, or some other structure that runs the length of the table.  However, if it’s completely open air, consider a look like these balloons:
